E-Lotus Guitar

This electric double neck guitar was developed in collaboration with the jazz guitarist Max Clouth as the successor to the acoustic Lotus guitar.

The guitar is a hybrid of an archtop guitar with a carved and domed top and a flat-top steel string with a flat bottom. The idea is that a more rigid carved top can withstand the tension of both necks statically better and the more flexible flat bottom can compensate for this and thus add deeper resonances to the guitar. The necks of the guitar run freely through the cavity of the guitar to under the bridge and ensure a good sustain. The guitar is thus also a hybrid of a solid body and hollow body guitar. The frets of the guitar are true temperament frets for the best possible intonation.
