Here is my latest variation of the Lotus Guitar -a double-neck guitar with 10 sympathetic strings.
These strings can easily be tuned by a special tuner normally used for Portuguese guitars. By using small hooks you can also increase each sympathetic string separately by a whole tone without tuning.
The first neck is for steel strings with a scalloped fretboard.
The second neck is for nylon strings without frets.
8 sympathetic strings can be muted by a lever in the soundhole. Two other sympathetic strings run over a Jawari bridge for a sitar-like sound and can be muted separately.
The guitar has an active amplification for each neck by L.R. Baggs and a passive custom-made humbucker for the sympathetic strings.A Roland GK-3 MIDI pickup opens the possibility to play the guitar via a guitar synthesizer.
