About This Project
Interpretation of a Stradivarius baroque guitar “The Rawlins”.
Form and construction are closely based on the original guitar made in 1700. Design and choice of material in collaboration with the musician, who wanted a different look and some modern features like e.g. fixed frets. First baroque guitar in my 20 year long career! The sound is sweet, refined and very open.
The top is made of Swiss spruce, back and sides are indian rosewood with stripes of plum wood. The neck is veneered with ebony and stripes of plum wood.
The rose is made in several layers with plum, yew, maple, ebony, parchment, mother of pearl and malachite.
