About This Project

WaveGuitar

The prototype of the WaveGuitar was made in 2003 as a university project under the title “bass reflex guitar” to research the possibility to lower the Helmholtz resonancy while maintaining the same body size.

Over time and based on an idea of Sigi Schwab, the WaveGuitar evolved with its three-dimensional sound hole only on the left side. This acts as a monitor box for the player and lets him bathe in his own sound. In addition, the expanded surface of the top without a soundhole in the middle provides additional interesting timbres.
