The aim of a restoration is to preserve as much of the original substance as possible. In the case of the rosette of the theorbencister made by A. E. Kram in 1770, some parts of the punched parchment could be reused for the reconstruction of the rosette. The new parts should differ in color from the original parts in order to clearly highlight them.
